I can easily manage both large and small classes using adaptable strategies that appeal to diverse personalities, backgrounds and learning types. Furthermore, I am accustomed to both in-person and online instruction environments, allowing for optimal lesson engagement and schedule flexibility. I use techniques to encourage and engage participation in young learners’ ESL teaching frameworks including listening, reading, speaking and writing. 1. Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I'm all about English and personality development, especially when it comes to honing communication skills, building confidence, and fostering personal growth. My love for English sparked early on, fueled by how literature and language can truly shape our thoughts, ideas, and even who we are. As I grew, I realized just how much effective communication and self-confidence can influence our success, both personally and professionally. 2. What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
My biggest inspiration for teaching stems from the incredible mentors and educators who have left a lasting mark on my personal and professional life. Their patience, empathy, and unwavering dedication sparked my passion for teaching. I came to understand just how transformative great teaching can be-it's not just about academics; it's about shaping character, building self-confidence, and equipping students with the skills they need to thrive in life. The chance to make a positive impact on my students and watch them grow is what drives me every single day.
3. How does your work help society?
As an English teacher and personality development expert, I'm dedicated to shaping confident, articulate, and responsible individuals who contribute positively to society. Effective communication and a well-rounded personality are essential in every aspect of life-whether it's in your career, social interactions, leadership, or teamwork. By helping my students express themselves clearly and with confidence, I'm nurturing empathetic and engaged citizens who can have a meaningful impact on their communities and workplaces.
4. If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My role model is definitely Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India. He was renowned for his humility, exceptional communication skills, and truly inspiring personality. What stood out about him was his remarkable ability to connect with people, particularly the youth, through both his words and actions. His unwavering commitment to education, strong personal integrity, and passion for nurturing talent have had a significant impact on how I approach teaching and personal growth. I aim to embody his values in both my professional and personal life.
5. Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Outside of my teaching role, I have a deep passion for Bharatnatyam, a dance form I've been formally trained in. It goes beyond just a hobby for me; it's a lifestyle that teaches me discipline, helps me express my emotions, and connects me to my cultural roots. I also love to read, especially books focused on personal development and inspiring life stories, which offer me fresh perspectives. Traveling is another one of my passions, as it allows me to experience various cultures, adding richness to both my teaching and dance practice by broadening my understanding of people and society.
6. Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
I think back to a student who had a tough time with confidence and public speaking. At the beginning, he would hesitate to speak up even during class discussions. But with steady support, encouragement, and practice, he gradually started to conquer his fears. I'll always remember the day he confidently delivered a speech in front of the whole school and received a round of applause. His journey reminded me that with patience, empathy, and consistent encouragement, we can really help people discover their hidden potential and realize their strengths, which can shape not just their language abilities but their entire personalities as well.
