About Me
I’m Pooja, a certified yoga instructor, fitness trainer, and 200-hour YTTC graduate with over 6 years of experience. Based in Ahmedabad, I help individuals achieve holistic well-being through yoga. I specialize in Traditional Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, Yoga for Kids, Yoga for Back Pain, Yoga for PCOD, Yoga for Stress Relief, Yoga for the Elderly, and Yoga for Fat Loss. I teach Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga, Meditation, Pranayamas, breathing exercises, and yogic kriyas. Each session starts with a short prayer and a full-body warm-up, followed by a customized sequence of asanas, pranayama, and yoga nidra. Surya Namaskaras are included occasionally based on the day’s focus. The class structure changes depending on the age group, fitness level, and health needs of the students. For corporate sessions, I design practices based on the nature of the employees’ work. For example, with IT professionals, I focus on improving spinal health, neck relaxation, and posture correction. I specialize in Yoga for Stress Management, Fat Loss, Children, Elders, Flexibility, Back Pain, and Therapeutic Yoga. 1) Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Yoga is more than just a practice for me-it's a way of life. My journey into yoga began with my deep passion for health and wellness. I have always been fascinated by the mind-body connection and how holistic practices can enhance overall well-being. As I explored yoga, I realized its immense power in improving physical health, reducing stress, and bringing inner peace.This passion led me to start Yog Aradhna With Pooja, where I help others experience the transformative benefits of yoga. Teaching yoga allows me to share my knowledge and guide people toward a healthier, more balanced life. Seeing my students grow stronger, more flexible, and mentally at ease is incredibly rewarding, and it continues to inspire me every day.
2) What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
My motivation for teaching yoga comes from my deep passion for health and wellness, as well as my personal journey with an autoimmune condition. Yoga has been a powerful tool in helping me manage my health, improving both my physical and mental well-being. Experiencing its transformative benefits firsthand inspired me to share this practice with others.My biggest motivation is my students. Their dedication, progress, and personal growth inspire me every day. Seeing how yoga helps them not just physically but also mentally and emotionally reinforces my belief in its power. Knowing that I can contribute to their well-being keeps me motivated to teach and continue growing on this path.
3) How does your work help society?
Yoga is more than just a physical practice-it's a holistic approach to well-being that benefits individuals and, in turn, society as a whole. Through Yog Aradhna With Pooja, I help people improve their physical health, manage stress, and cultivate inner peace. When individuals feel healthier and more balanced, they bring that positivity into their families, workplaces, and communities.As someone managing an autoimmune condition, I understand the importance of self-care and holistic healing. By sharing my knowledge of yoga, I empower others to take control of their health, whether they are dealing with chronic conditions, stress, or simply looking for a way to stay fit.Yoga also fosters mindfulness, compassion, and emotional resilience. When more people embrace these qualities, it creates a ripple effect, leading to a more peaceful and harmonious society. My work helps individuals lead healthier lives, which ultimately contributes to a stronger, more mindful community.
4) If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
If I had to think of a role model for my work, I would choose Lord Lakulish. As the 28th incarnation of Lord Shiva and the founder of the Pashupata sect, he emphasized the spiritual and transformative power of yoga. His teachings inspire me to view yoga not just as a physical practice but as a path to inner awakening and holistic well-being.Lord Lakulish's wisdom and dedication to spreading yoga's deeper meanings align with my own mission. His legacy reminds me that yoga is a journey of self-discovery, healing, and devotion-one that I strive to share with my students every day.
5) Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Outside of teaching yoga, I enjoy reading academic books and traveling. I love expanding my knowledge, especially in areas related to health, wellness, and philosophy. Reading helps me deepen my understanding of yoga, the human body, and mindfulness, which I incorporate into my teaching.Traveling, on the other hand, allows me to experience different cultures, traditions, and perspectives. It gives me a sense of adventure and helps me connect with people from all walks of life. Whether it's exploring ancient yoga sites or simply embracing new environments, traveling enriches my personal and professional journey.
6) Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
One of the most memorable moments in my teaching journey was with a student who came to me struggling with chronic pain due to an autoimmune condition. She was hesitant at first, unsure if yoga could truly help her. But with consistent practice, patience, and the right guidance, she started noticing improvements-not just in her physical health but also in her mindset.Seeing her regain strength, confidence, and a sense of inner peace reminded me why I chose this path. As someone managing an autoimmune condition myself, I deeply understood her struggles. Her transformation reinforced my belief in the power of yoga and the importance of sharing it with those who need it most.This experience, among many others, continues to inspire me to teach and support my students on their wellness journeys.
