About Me
I have been working with Superprof for two years now and have several students. They are mostly foreigners working in India who wish to learn the language and hone their conversational as well as written skills in the same. It is always a great time to not only teach someone a new thing but to also learn from them about their culture and place. I have also been teaching children Hindi for their school course and have worked with NGOs. They have been mostly in primary schools and were taught social studies subjects. I thoroughly enjoy doing what I do and would love to have you on this journey with me too!

I have always loved teaching and would give personal attention to each student and do not mind repeating several times until the student finally grasps the concept. I take a grammatical approach to look at how sentences are built in Hindi, the basic syntax and by adding vocabulary, the student feels confident and is able to talk in Hindi in no time. I'm an extremely patient person and understanding of different needs and learning requirements of every student and will work accordingly. If any new approaches need to be taken in course of time then I'm happy to adapt to different methodologies.

More About Me
What motivates you to teach & why?
I love teaching because it gives me a chance to tell others what I know and introduce them to a topic they did not know before. I have always felt attached to my teachers, also because my father is a teacher, and hence, feel close to the field.
When did you start developing an interest in your subject area?
I am mainly teaching Hindi as of now. Hindi is my mother tongue and I have always loved reading and writing it. I would be the first to help anyone in Hindi if they required any help. So far, I've been teaching foreigners and that also helps me give them a peep into the language and the culture of the country.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
I think of my father and another teacher of mine from school. They are great at their respective disciplines but more than just the classroom learning, what I liked the most was the learning that happened outside it. They have always been my pillar of support and taught me everything from the subject to human interaction and behaviours. They have led me to believe that a teacher is not just one to teaches from the books, he or she also shapes us in the way we think and grow up.
What is the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in mastering your craft?
I have been teaching professionally for a year now. So in one year, my biggest obstacle was to come up with a method for every student as they are not the same people and different learning abilities.
In your opinion, what makes someone excel in your subject area?
The knowledge of the subject and being able to understand not only the complex information but the basics as well. It is also important to be flexible with students according to their needs.
What would you say to a student who says, "This is too difficult, I give up!"?
I would keep the subject aside for once and just talk to them. It happens at times that due to information overload, people tend to get frustrated. In times like these, it is better to just talk and have a day off and revise the material with a fresh mind.
