More About Me
Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I am a PhD scholar doing a PhD in computational biophysics, and I had a major in Physics during my bachelors and masters. I have had a lot of interest in Physics and mathematics from my school days, but when I joined my PhD program, I got interested in data, statistics and programming using python. I want to pursue my career in data science and I want to learn more about these subjects.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
My mother is a teacher and she has been the inspiration my whole life. She has also inspired me to teach and I also think that teaching makes your understanding better in that subject.
How does your work help society?
I have been a student and I know the struggles people face in learning a subject and also in exploring career options. I think I can relate to them and can advice them in subject wise and also in career wise.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
The role model for my work is always my mother. She taught me when I was a child, and her way of teaching made me the person I am today. It inspires me to be a better version of myself.
Tell us about your hobbies outside of teaching.
I like to go to the gym or workout at home. It makes me relax.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
I have taught overseas students and also students inside India. One of the overseas students was telling me why he is learning the stuff in the syllabus that has no use in real life. Then I tell him all the things he has been learning and going to learn will be beneficial for him in real life with examples. I think as a teacher I have to assure them that they are not learning for grades, but to be able to apply those learnings in real life.
