Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
One of my friends used to give guitar lessons to a group of common friends at my place, in that environment I got myself interested in learning guitar and decided that I wanted to explore this wonderful instrument. Since then it's been almost 10+ years of me playing and learning the guitar now and I've cherished every part of its journey.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
Motivation behind teaching is to mentor individuals who are willing to give their time and energy in learning this skill. I see it as a part of moral obligation to share the knowledge with people that I've acquired over the years. Also, it's a great way to utilize my time and at the same time I get an opportunity to interact with people of varied backgrounds and age groups.
How does your work help society?
It helps in many ways like helping people in achieving what they want that leads them with a sense of fulfilment in their lives which ultimately helps becoming a better person themselves. And from there a contented person like this is able to give back to the society from a better perspective and intent. Also I believe that almost anything related with music raises the general consciousness and positivity in the society.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
Anyone who is consistent and diligent with his work and with that produces constant results becomes a source to draw inspiration and to humble myself.

Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
Not an anecdote but a general observation I would like to share is that talent plays a very little part in learning this instrument and for the most part almost everyone has to go through with the same journey regardless of age, gender, etc. Therefore mastering consistency and ability to have fun with the instrument will set one up for a long run.

Perfect! Harshit has been a great teacher to my 13 year old daughter who started learning from him mid of last year. Unlike other classes, i started seeing her make progress early on within very few classes and the pace has been consistent from there on. It is tough to befriend teens and strike the right balance of mixing strictness, fun and motivation through fast progress while teaching them. Harshit has done that beautifully as a teacher. He is sincere with his class routine and ensures his students understand the foundations well and have the right tools to help them while playing.
