Chess is a fascinating and complex game that has been played for centuries.As a chess coach, I have developed a deep passion for the game and a desire to share my knowledge and experience with others.My interest in chess began at a young age when I was first introduced to the game by my father at the age of five!I was immediately drawn to the strategic and tactical elements of the game, and I quickly became obsessed with learning as much as I could about it.Over the years, I have honed my skills and developed a deep understanding of the game through a combination of study, practice, and competition.I have studied the games of past masters, analyzed countless chess positions, and spent countless hours playing and analyzing games with other players.As a chess coach, I have had the opportunity to share my passion for the game with others and help them develop their own skills and understanding.I believe that chess is a valuable tool for teaching critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.I am committed to helping my students achieve their full potential both on and off the board.Overall, my interest in chess has been fueled by a love of strategy and a desire to constantly learn and improve.I am excited to continue sharing my knowledge and passion with others as a chess coach.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
Firstly, I was tired of getting beaten by friends and family members in my childhood!Seriously, it was getting embarrassing! So, I decided to take my game to the next level and start studying and practicing like a pro.Just kidding! I was always drawn towards this beautiful game right from my childhood!I quit my software developer job and have forayed into Chess Tutoring over the past four years because of theimmense love and passion for this beautiful game. I believe in building strong relationships with kids, parents, and other chess enthusiasts tomake the game interesting and serve as an ongoing role model in the children's lives.As I got deeper into the game, I discovered that chess is actually pretty cool. It's like a battle between two armies, but instead of guns and bombs, you're using pawns and knights. Plus, there's nothing more satisfying than seeing the look on your opponent's face when you make a killer move and take their queen.Now, as a chess coach, I get to share my love of the game with others and help them become better players.It's incredibly rewarding to see my students go from struggling to hold their own to dominating their opponents with ease.So, if you're ready to take your chess game to the next level, give me a call.I'll teach you how to crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their pawns.Okay, maybe that's a bit dramatic, but you get the idea!

If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
I have a lot of names coming up in my mind at the moment but I will name four of them for various reasons.Garry Kasparov:As a former world champion and one of the greatest chess players of all time, Kasparov has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with his students. He has also been an advocate for using chess as a tool for education and has established a foundation that promotes the game's educational benefits.Susan Polgar:The first woman to earn the title of Grandmaster through tournament play. She has also coached several successful chess teams, including the first all-female team to win a national championship. Polgar is known for her innovative teaching methods and for inspiring young girls to pursue chess and STEM fields.Miguel Najdorf:He was not only a legendary chess player but also a successful coach. He was known for his patient and supportive teaching style, and many of his students went on to become successful chess players themselves.Viswanathan Anand:His coaching style is known for its emphasis on developing a deep understanding of the game's fundamental principles. He encourages his students to study classic games and analyze positions to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. He is also known for his positive and supportive approach, which has helped to inspire many young players to pursue their love of chess.In addition to his coaching work, Anand has been an ambassador for the game of chess in India and has helped to popularize the sport in the country. Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Filmmaking:It is a creative and exciting hobby that I have been pursuing over the past few years. It involves bringing stories to life through visual media. During my film-making days, I would often spend time brainstorming ideas, writing scripts, scouting locations, casting actors, filming scenes, and editing the final product. This hobby is a great way to express my creativity, develop technical skills and share stories with others. It helped my creative juices flow and improved my visualization which also translated to chess!Book Reading :While book reading and chess may seem like two very different hobbies, there are actually many connections between them. Both activities require concentration, critical thinking, and a willingness to engage with complex ideas. It provides me with hours of entertainment and intellectual stimulation at the same time. I immerse myself in different worlds, learn new information, and gain insights into different perspectives through the books I read.Travelling :It is something that I absolutely enjoy. It allows me to experience new cultures, cuisines, and environments, and is a great way to broaden my perspective and learn about the world. I enjoy travelling to off-beat destinations as they usually provide a very unique experience and increase my cultural awareness.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
Anecdote 1 :One day, while coaching a young student, I was struck by her incredible ability to see multiple moves ahead on the chessboard.She was only nine years old at the time, but her skill and intuition were far beyond her age.As we played through a game together, I noticed that she was making moves that I hadn't even considered, and was setting up clever traps and tricks that caught me off guard.I was amazed by her talent and couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in her abilities.After the game, I asked her how she had developed such a strong understanding of the game at such a young age.She told me that she had been playing chess with her grandfather since she was three years old, and had always loved the challenge and complexity of the game.This experience reminded me of the power of early exposure to complex ideas and the importance of nurturing talent in young people.It also reminded me of the joy of sharing the game of chess with others and watching them develop their skills and love for the game over time.Anecdote 2:I once had a student who was struggling with self-confidence both on and off the chessboard.He was a talented player, but often doubted his own abilities and would second-guess his moves during games.One day, during a coaching session, I decided to try an experiment.I asked him to close his eyes and visualize himself playing a game of chess against an opponent.I asked him to imagine making all of the right moves, anticipating his opponent's moves, and ultimately winning the game.As he played out the scenario in his mind, I could see a shift in his body language.His shoulders relaxed, his breathing became more steady, and his focus became sharper.After a few minutes, I asked him to open his eyes and play a game of chess against me.To my amazement, he played with newfound confidence and precision, making moves that he might not have otherwise considered.From that moment on, he began to see himself as a strong and capable chess player, and his self-confidence began to grow both on and off the chessboard.This experience taught me the power of visualization and positive thinking, and how it can help to unlock hidden potential in even the most self-doubting individuals.
