About Me
I am a retired seasoned Biology teacher from Kendriya Vidyalaya with 35 years of teaching experience. I have been handling classes 9 to 12 with a track record of excellent results and positive feedback from students and parents who keep in touch even after 30 years. Setting question papers and CBSE evaluation has empowered me as a teacher. I keep myself updated about research in Biology and the latest techniques of online and offline teaching.

I motivate the students and facilitate effective enjoyable learning . Various activities and tools like nemonics, code words ,concept mapping, quiz, story telling and small worksheets are a part of my class . I evaluate the learning outcome ,share feedback at periodic intervals and help students to present their answers .With a deep understanding of the pressure in academics, I help children to learn with ease and to develop confidence to face any challenge. My classes are interactive and are modified to suit individual needs and objectives. It is important to fill in the gaps left by the school system and cater to the each child's needs. Happy Learning!

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Life Science or Biology is inherently interesting, fascinating and dynamic science. It unravels the mysteries of nature and life.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
While still in highschool I started teaching younger children in the neighbourhood. When these children performed well I was thrilled.Slowly peer teaching became a favorite pass time and also a way of revising. This inspired me to choose teaching as a career.
How does your work help society?
I have had a wonderful and enriching time for almost 35 years as a dedicated teacher and my students are doing well as engineers , doctors and scientists .Many of them keep in touch and it gives me immense satisfaction to see them evolve into sincere hardworking persons.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My grandfather as a very dedicated teacher was always my role model.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
I love to paint and write stories and poems.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
I have so many anecdotes in my long teaching career.and I am sharing one. A few years back I was waiting for my turn in the hospital .I was tired standing ,as all seats were occupied . To my great surprise a young doctor quickly brought a chair for me and he then bent and touched my feet and asked me 'Mam.do you remember me?' I stared at him in disbelief because here was the naughtiest boy in my class, now a smart young doctor.He was laughing and telling me how I used to scold him and slowly he transformed from a lazy indifferent boy to the most interested student in my class. My joy knew no bounds !'I am not a teacher, but an awakener.' -Robert Frost
