Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
English is often viewed as a language that is difficult to master, but I beg to differ. This is exactly why I began teaching English to make it easier to learn for everyone regardless of age or nationality.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
I cannot think of a person but instead it's a situation that motivated me to teach English.Though India is the second largest English speaking country in the world, it still remains considerably inaccessible to learners from underprivileged backgrounds. I wish to improve this situation even if it's at a small degree through my teaching.
How does your work help society?
I actively engage in teaching sections of the society who do not possess the luxury to afford paid sessions. Some who have benefitted from my sessions include adult women and children.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
I'd say my Grandmother. She has been teaching for over 45 years and this has always been something that has put me in awe.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
I do have an interest towards drawing and painting. I also am an avid reader.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
When I was in school, I was not considered smart. Low IQ, Introvert are some of the terms that were used to describe me. Now I'm a researcher who also teaches English with the same brain! If you love irony, I'm sure you would have enjoyed reading this! :)
