I have been a math tutor for the last 22 years. Math concepts are to be learned by understanding the basics and methods. To make a concept more interesting students need to know the applications and the need of studying that. Dear children, I am a Mathematics teacher equipped with MSc and B.Ed. Math is an interesting subject. I really want my classes to be fun and entertaining. My teaching methodology will be different from the other math teachers, like I give my own notes. I teach new equations, new methods to solve the math problems. I take classes for the primary, higher secondary and also senior secondary students. I take individual and group classes also, and I make sure that I will respond to the doubts of the students. I usually give basics for each and every topic we learn. Math is not about byhearting. Topics needed to be understood well and resolved. I assure that students can find themselves improved. More About Me
Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Mathematics is considered to be the 'Gateway' to all other Science subjects. The study of other branch of Science seems to be incomplete without a proper knowledge of Mathematics. The essence of Mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple. It is a supreme judge: from it's decisions there is no appeal. Up to 9th standard, I didn't have much interest in Mathematics. in order to score good marks in the subject, I went to a tuition. After attending his classes, I felt that it was an interesting subject. His way of teaching and dedication influenced me a lot and from thereafter it was my favorite subject. For my further studies too, it was my partner and now it's more like my passion, or should I say... 'It's my passion'.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
I've been teaching this subject for 19 years . But I took teaching as a profession after my marriage. In simple words, my motivation is my family...especially my husband & kids. Whatever I am at present, all that credits goes to them.
How does your work help society?
Mathematics is a nightmare for most of the students. But if they approach this subject in the proper way, they can easily make friendship with the subject. I always keep a strong and friendly relationship with my students and allows them to clear their doubts. Hence they gain confidence to find solutions for complex real life problems.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
One of the role models in my life is Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Azad. His autobiography helped me to enhance my knowledge.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Teaching is my passion. Other than that, I love to hear music and enjoy reading books.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
As a part of my B.Ed training while teaching practice was going on, I figured it out that one of my students seems to be not interested in his studies. But with my friendly approach and special care, I made him a smart student. After giving individual classes about basic concepts of Mathematics, he began to change into a bright student who score good marks in his class. Thus I came to realize that, if a teacher teach her students the values of life, discipline & culture by approaching them friendly, it can build a healthy tomorrow with brilliant brains.
