More About Me
Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Well, I started studying Spanish when I was in high school. I joined this amazing fancy Spanish Institute, more to feel some change from the monotonous course at school. Well then once I started, I ended up doing almost all levels in a span of 4/5 years. Spanish is a beautiful language, not only for career advancement but also for the culture and the 'cool' and the 'style' that Spanish carries.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
My motivation was a teacher who in my first level blew my mind by teaching with jokes. We laughed, we studied, just like education was meant to be ideally. She held my interest since the first day with her brilliant methods of teaching and native knowledge.
How does your work help society?
Globalization is bringing people together like never before. Even knowing a little of the most widely known cultures, speaks volumes about your personality and education. It's not always important to know technical skills, on the other hand, soft skills, more importantly, basic foreign language or culture knowledge wins people's hearts.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My role model would be anyone who can talk to different kinds of people with ease and mutual respect. In today's world of fast pacing life, the importance of soft skills and etiquette has flown through the roof. Hence, to be able to hold a conversation and be relatable, in spite of wherever you come from, is essential.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
I'm a data scientist and a tech-geek, and because of the job, the more I talk to different people from different projects and across the globe, the more I realize that teaching people new things is my passion.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
Well, we can talk about that fun incident in our first class! Hahaha :D
