About Me
Hello there! Here's a little about me. I am current pursuing my Master's in English Studies from the University of Mumbai. I have graduated from St Xavier's College, Mumbai and reside in Mumbai. I am certified as a TESOL teacher (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) by Asian College of Teachers. I've been teaching since 2020 and my teaching experience spans to a bit above five years. I am a dancer, singer and an artist. My hobbies include playing the guitar, painting and interacting with my students!️

In the trial class, I will gauge the needs of the students, and help them identify their strengths and areas of improvement, according to which I'll create an agenda of what we need to work on. My classes will never be mundane, they will include a lot of fun filled activities, and a tad bit of homework too, as I do not believe in burdening the student. I'll also be taking revisions on a regular basis and provide additional assistance whenever needed. Besides that, I'll give the students a break whenever they feel too worked up, along with an occasional chitchat session so that we bond better!

More About Me
Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Teaching is something that came to me naturally. My cousins and the children in my colony always came to seek help from me whenever they found studies difficult as they felt like I had a knack to make the most difficult concepts seem easy. Hence, I realized that teaching made me happy and I could definitely think of it as a potential career option.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
Being very honest, the lockdown was my inspiration to teach. I knew I wanted to do it always but was pushed to choosing other career options. However, none of those worked because of the pandemic, which was a blessing in disguise for me and made my dream of teaching come true!
How does your work help society?
The fact that someone has gained knowledge because of me imparting it to them is such a gratifying experience. This is why I felt like teaching can be the one thing that I could do to bring a change in society.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My mother is my role model. I think all of the patience, calmness and the never giving up attitude that I have is all because of how I have seen her teach me my entire life. The way she can make someone comfortable so easily and her likeability is something I have always wanted to have in my teaching too!
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
I love dancing! Apart from that, I also sing, paint, sketch and play the guitar.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
Well, I'd love to talk about my first ever trial class. I was so nervous and was about to teach a 6 year old girl. Teaching online was absolutely new to me which is why I was in two minds if it would work or not. But, to my utter amazement, the student loved me because of the way I built a rapport with her instead of directly delving into studies. This happened last year and I am teaching her till date.
