About Me
Professionally a Singer, Voice Coach & Voice Finder. I am Sangeet Visharad in Indian Classical music. Specialized further in Light Music which is very different from Classical music and includes a lot of Western music techniques. My teacher was Pandit Dhruba Ghosh who was the sixth Indian to win a Grammy Award. Performed with the Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota ji.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I was always interested in vocals and had represented my school on AIR (All India Radio)As I kept singing, I did get appreciation for my work so I decided to turn my hobby/passion into a full-time profession.When your work is appreciated it automatically motivates you and helps you develop an interest in it.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
Teaching comes naturally to me. It can also be because my mother has been a teacher for so many yearsI see a lot of people struggling to learn and find the right teacher. Hence, I thought it would be great if I could show some direction to students who are genuinely looking to learn vocals with good results and improvement and stay in the right direction.
How does your work help society?
Music is the elixir of life. There is nothing better than music to relax and de-stress your mind. Anyone learning vocals will definitely get help in staying away from stress. Besides it helps you fight anxiety and depression which is a big problem our society is facing.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
I keep getting inspired by so many people. There is so much to learn from some well-known singers. My teacher definitely inspired me a lot. I guess he winning the Grammy award was really something inspirational and motivational for me.Michael Jackson has also been a role model for me because of the immense talent he had and an institute by himself where one could just learn a lot from him and I would say the same for Mohd Rafi.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Music, Teaching, Dancing, Comedy, Movies, Sports, Travel, Reading about Spirituality, Trying to learn a new skill or a thing.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
We shall always face challenges in music but I have always been taught by my gurus to accept the challenge and not run away from it. I always make it a point to continue my practice no matter how good or bad the situation around isA few inspirational things said by my students after training with me-A student said that she became more relaxed and ease at work resulting in her handwriting and signing of documents becoming neater and tidier.A 60yr old man gained confidence to sing in front of a crowd.Person with diabetes and insomnia started seeing improvement in his health due to vocals resulting in less medication being needed for the same.
